Biography

SeanSean graduated from West Liberty University (formerly West Liberty State College) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in July of 2009. He studied classical piano, theory, ear training, and form and analysis. Additionally, he studied composition, electronic music, music technology, and recording technology during his course of study, and accumulated over 90 hours in said studies, 13 of those in major applied study classical piano lessons. His resume includes piano competitions at the state level with honorable mentions, student recitals in piano (one performing in voice and acting as assistant conductor), and auditioning and performing in the departmental Honors Recital on piano. Sean has also often done recording of various wind ensemble, jazz band and ensemble, choral, vocal, and instrumental performances, including editing and mastering for CD, as well as much electronic music composition and performing (in the West Liberty Electronic Music Ensemble).

Professionally, he works as an independent contractor in Information Technology. He offers consulting services, repair services, and design services within the field. During 2014, he worked as a CSS expert and software tester for a company writing a Web application for a major telecom company. Also, during most of 2016, Sean supervised a customer care contact center for a major nutraceutical company, specializing in customer retention.

On September 20, 2016, Sean earned his private pilot certification after about two months of study at Weltzien SkyPark in Wadsworth, Ohio. He recommends them highly due to their low prices and excellent instruction. He is continuing to pursue logbook hours for further certifications and endorsements as available.

As a community service, he is recognized by the FCC as a licensed general class amateur radio operator, under the call sign K8JSM. Amateur radio is a vital service that has saved lives when regular communication systems have failed. The FCC established amateur radio as a voluntary, non-commercial, radio communications service. It allows licensed operators to improve their communications and technical skills, while providing the nation with a pool of trained radio operators and technicians who can provide essential communications during emergencies. He enjoys building and experimenting with antennas and mobile applications. Beginning March of 2008, Sean was licensed as a technician class amateur radio operator, KD8IEX, and he immediately requested his current “vanity” call sign. He is a Pledge Life Member of the American Radio Relay League, participates in the Amateur Radio Emergency Service, and is a SKYWARN Severe Weather Spotter for the National Weather Service.
